Stampede killed 11 in Karachi, Pakistan: Accident while distributing free ration to the poor; 8 women and 3 children among the dead

Eleven people were killed in a stampede in Pakistan’s Karachi city on Friday. The incident took place in the premises of a factory. Here food items and other things were being distributed to the poor during Ramzan. The dead included 8 women and 3 children. According to media reports, the police were also present on the spot, but fled as soon as the stampede broke out.

There have also been some stampede incidents in Pakistan’s Punjab province over the past week to claim free flour being distributed by the government. In these also 12 people have died. Three women were also included in these.

According to ‘The Express Tribune’, eyewitnesses have told that a large number of people had gathered to get free ration. There was little to distribute and the crowd was huge. That’s why people wanted to get the goods as soon as possible. During this struggle, a stampede took place. During the scuffle, an electric wire broke and fell on the people. Some people died due to electrocution.

Nine bodies have been brought to Abbasi Hospital in Karachi. 29 people are seriously injured. The death toll is expected to increase.

These days the holy month of Ramadan is going on. In all the countries of the world, Muslims are fasting along with praying. These days a stampede is going on in Pakistan to get free flour and so far 11 people have lost their lives in it. According to the news agency, 11 people, including women, have died in the struggle to get free flour in the Punjab province of Pakistan alone.

According to news agency PTI, 11 people have lost their lives trying to get free flour since the start of Ramzan. Two women are also included in these. The special thing is that this figure is of only four districts of Punjab province. These districts are Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh and Okara. All the four districts fall in South Punjab. 60 people have also been injured in these districts. The Pakistan government says that people died due to the stampede.
