Rana’s Bail Hearing Deferred Till Dec 15

A federal judge in Chicago have adjourned till December 15 the decision to release Pakistani born Canadian and suspected Lashkar operative Tahawwur Hussain Rana saying that she needs more time to review the evidences.

Following a half an hour bail hearing, Nan Nolan, US Magistrate Judge, adjourned the matter till December 15. During the hearing, defence counsel Patrick Blegen produced three character witnesses, including his brother-in-law, described him as a “peaceful, honest, trustworthy and non-violent person who cannot talk about violence as he is a very peaceful person.”

While deferring the hearing, Nolan said that she would need a ‘week’s time’ to go through the statement, including a five hour video of the Rana’s statement FBI after his arrest in October.

Rana, along with David Coleman Headley, another suspected Lashkar operative who is a Pakistani born American national, was arrested by the FBI for plotting terror attacks in Denmark and India.
