Instructor and trainee pilots killed after trainee aircraft crashed in Balaghat

More than 22 hours have passed since the incident of trainee plane crash in the inaccessible hills and dense forest of Bhakkutola village of Kirnapur district, but till now neither the Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA, Mumbai) nor the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) officials have been able to reach the spot.

However, it is expected that the team will reach Balaghat by Sunday evening or on Monday. Shafiq Shah, airport in-charge of Birsi airport said that the DGCA or AAIB team has not arrived yet. Actually, AAIB is an independent board of DGCA, which investigates aircraft accidents. Along with this, DGCA also cooperates in such investigation.

The airport incharge said that after the accident, the black box of the aircraft has been kept safe with the police administration. On reaching the spot, a black box will be handed over, in which the conversation between the instructor pilot and the lady trainee pilot before the accident is recorded.

After examining this box, the real reasons for the accident will be known. It was informed that apart from recording the dialogue between the pilot and co-pilot in the black box in charter aircraft or any other aircraft, their conversation is also recorded in the digital voice recorder device at the airport. After the investigation by DGCA or AAIB, the report will be sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is worth mentioning that on Saturday, March 18, a trainee aircraft flying from Birsi Airport had crashed in the forest of Bhakkutola in Kirnapur.
