I’m sure that I will come out of this clean: Kanimozhi

NEW DELHI: Kanimozhi, arrived Delhi early on Thursday for her court hearing on 2G spectrum allocation scam, said she will come out clean.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is unlikely to oppose Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi ‘s bail if court orders arrest on Friday and she seeks bail, said media reports on Thursday.
“I’m sure that I will come out of this clean and if people think it is the end of it, it is not,” Kanimozhi said in a statement.

She will fight the case legally, she added.

“We have to fight it whatever it is. We have to fight it legally. We will fight it legally and I think DMK has also said whatever it is we will face the whole thing legally. So we have to stand up and fight in the court. But let’s wait and see.”

“I don’t want to say that I have been targeted but I don’t understand why there are so many names in the chargesheet. There are so many people against whom there are allegations. But the entire focus is on me and I don’t understand why.”

“If people think I’m an easy target, then they are highly mistaken,” she added.
Earlier the day, Kanimozhi said she is ready to face the worst.

“I am prepared to face the worst. I do not expect leniency because I am a woman,” Kanomozhi said.
Kanimozhi’s husband Aravindan, son Adithya Union minister M K Alagiri and other DMK MPs also accompanied her to the capital.

Kanimozhi charged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi is named by CBI as co-conspirator in the 2G spectrum allocation scam in its second chargesheet filed before Special judge O P Saini.

She will also face the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 12 for money laundering.
