Benevolence is greatest religion: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that no religion is bigger than benevolence. One can attain God automatically if he works for others’ welfare. There are 3 ways to attain God – knowledge, devotion and Karma. Through knowledge, one follows path of virtue and teaches it to others, devotion creates spirit of sacrifice and Karma paves way to attain God.

Shri Chouhan was addressing religious event of making 5.25 crore earthen Shivlings in the presence of Grahasth Sant Pt. Shri Dev Prabhakar Shastri “Daddaji” at Bamora in Sagar district today. The Chief Minister along with wife Smt. Sadhana Singh, sought blessings of Daddaji by performing Rudrabhishek of earthen Shivlings with Panchamrit and water of holy rivers. On the occasion, Shri Chouhan also unveiled statue of Transport Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh’s father Shri Deewan Amol Singh.

Appeal for relief to earthquake-affected people

The Chief Minister said that the state government has made available Rs. 5 crore for relief to quake victims. He appealed to people to come forward to donate towards relief to affected people. Donated amounts would be sent through Prime Minister to Nepal to help out affected people. The Chief Minister was presented a cheque of Rs. 6 lakh 57 thousand for relief on behalf of Sagar Municipal Corporation.

The Chief Minister said that Transport Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh has done laudable and exemplary work by installing statue of his late father Shri Deewan Amol Singh. He said that blessings of parents and teachers always work as a shield and help move ahead in life.

Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh, MLAs Sarvshri Shailendra Jain, Pradeep Laria, Harvansh Singh and Smt. Parul Sahu, other public representatives and large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
