Pakistan Airports on high alert

ISLAMABAD (IANS): Pakistan airports were put on high alert due to the last month terror attack on a major naval base in Karachi, according to a media report.

In the attack at least four terrorists and 10 security personnel were killed when insurgents stormed the naval base and fought for hours. Two American made surveillance aircraft were also destroyed that time.

On Monday Interior Minister Rehman Malik informed that investigation into the audacious attack on the PNS Mehran base was going on.

The Associated Press of Pakistan quoted him as saying, “It was premature at this stage to say anything about the perpetrators.”

The Taliban and Al Qaeda were anti-Pakistan and indulging in terrorism to destabilize the country, Malik added.
