Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev will be observed on Sunday all over India

KANPUR: The 541st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev will be celebrated on Sunday.
Community meals (langar) will be organised at the Moti Jheel ground of Kanpur Uttar Pradesh.

On Friday, two days before the festival, a procession was taken out in which Guru Granth Sahib was taken out on a palanquin. The procession was led by traditionally dressed five armed guards, also known as `Panj Pyaras’. Sikh devotees recited gurbani and other holy songs in the praise of Guru Nanak.

The Guru Granth Sahib is being read continuously and Prabhat pheris were taken out on Saturday.
