Obama to talk Chinese President on bilateral issues

Washington: US President Barack Obama will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping next month in California to discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues.
They will review progress and challenges in US-China relations over the past four years and discuss ways to enhance cooperation, while constructively managing their differences, in the years ahead, Carney said in a statement.
The National Security Advisor Tom Donilon will travel to Beijing on May 26-28 to prepare for this meeting, he said. Whereas, the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang made his first overseas trip to India this week.
Meanwhile, the State Department on Monday said India and China are strong, prosperous and influential nations and their contributions are vital in addressing global and regional challenges. “As strong, prosperous and influential nations, both China and India’s contributions are vital to addressing a broad range of regional and global challenges,” State Department spokesperson Patrick Ventrell said.
