Obama Arrives in Oslo to Receive Nobel Peace Price
This year’s Nobel Peace Price awardee US President Barack Obama has reached Norway’s capital Oslo to receive the prestigious award. His wife Michelle is accompanying him.
Tight security restrictions were imposed around Oslo by Norwegian authorities as Obama reached boarded Air Force One to fly into the city.
Nearly 2,500 police officers have been positioned all over the Nordic country and the Norwegian military has also contributed support in the form of helicopters and sharpshooters.
Police, some armed with machine guns, also guarded City Hall, where the prize ceremony will take place.
The Justice Ministry is shelling out 16 million US dollars for security.
