Nine killed, 65 injured in Baghdad car bombings

Baghdad: Nine people were killed and 65 others wounded as six car bombings struck the Iraqi capital, an Interior Ministry official said.

Car bombings also hit the districts of Zaafraniyah, Sadr City and Seydia in the capital city, killing five people and wounding 33 others, the official said.

According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, the death toll among Iraqis in violence in April hit its highest level since 2008, with 712 people killed across the country.
