Rio Celebrates 2016 Olympic Victory

Streets in Rio de Janeiro were a riot of yellow and green as thousands of residents took to the streets in celebration of their city being nominated as the venue of the 2016 Olympic Games.

Thousands of hands clapped and torsos gyrated to rock and samba beats as revelers chanted “Que delicia!” or Delicious to tell the world they relished the feeling.

Soon as the decision was announced, the Copacabana beach – the undoubted epicenter of celebrations erupted with music and dance as residents said the games will help infuse their city with fresh vivacity and help Rio reposition itself.
