Main contenders facing taint of scandals
PARIS: Both the main contenders of French presidential election are facing taint of scandal. while Sarkozy is accused of taking funds from former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s regime during presidential campaign in 2007.
Hollande feels embarrassed when some of his senior figures attended an ally’s birthday party and found that disgraced former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn had also been invited. Sarkozy denied of taking any funds from former Libyan regime.
“It’s despicable. It’s a forgery. Mediapart is well used to dishonesty. It’s an agency in the service of the left,” Sarkozy said.
