Glory of Chitrakoot greater than the three lokas: CM

The Pride day of Chitrakoot was celebrated on Ram Navami on the holy land of Chitrakoot in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan honored saints on the occasion. He said that Lord Rama along with Mata Sita and Lakshman spent 11 and a half years of exile in Chitrakoot. Ram resides in every inch of Chitrakoot. The glory and pride of Chitrakoot is more than the three lokas.

Today the Sant Samaj and the elite have taken a pledge for the development of Chitrakoot. I also take a pledge to keep the river Mandakini clean and its flow uninterrupted. Chief Minister Chouhan said that a dam would be constructed in Majhgawan at a cost of Rs. 243 crore 79 lakh in the first phase to keep the Mandakini river of Chitrakoot evergreen. After this the work of second phase will also be done.

The Chief Minister said that as soon as the tunnel work of Bargi canal is completed by the grace of Lord Kamtanath, we will bring the water of Narmada ji to Mandakini river. The meeting of these two holy rivers will form a unique confluence. Instructions have been given to prepare its DPR. A project worth Rs 30.09 crore has also been approved to stop erosion in Mandakini river. Beautiful ghats will be built on its left bank. A project of Rs 49 crore 39 lakh has been approved for construction of CC road in Chitrakoot and Rs 62 crore for construction of roads and drains in the city. Works worth Rs 12 crore are also being sanctioned from the AMRUT scheme. Works worth Rs 127.47 crore have been approved in Chitrakoot. Along with this, community building will be constructed in Tulsi Marg Forest Department premises at a cost of Rs  2 crore and boundary wall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 23 lakh. The project has also been approved for underground power line.

Chouhan said that today is a day of pride for Chitrakoot. Now every year Ramnavami will be celebrated as Pride day of Chitrakoot. The government and society together will try for the overall development of Chitrakoot. Appealing to the general public, the Chief Minister said that Chitrakoot should be made the number one city in cleanliness.

The Chief Minister offered prayers to Bharat Mata and Lord Ram in the Pride Day celebrations. He honoured the daughters by performing kanya-pujan. Chief Minister Chouhan, along with his wife Sadhana Singh, appreciated the products and materials made by women’s groups after visiting the exhibition put up by women self-help groups of Aajeevika Mission and Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Deendayal Shodh Sansthan.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan blessed the daughters studying in the schools and getting scholarships under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Shri Chouhan also distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of various schemes.

Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development, Shri Ramkhelawan Patel said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has made Madhya Pradesh a developed state from Bimaru state. Now every citizen of the state should take a pledge like Pride Day, to ensure that Madhya Pradesh becomes self-reliant.

MP Shri Ganesh Singh said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has gifted Chitrakoot construction works worth Rs 111 crores today. Today, the Chief Minister has increased our pride by honoring and felicitating the saints and those who took the pledge for the development of Chitrakoot. Under his leadership, not only Chitrakoot, but the entire state is getting overall development. Various organizations handed over the resolution letter to the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan to contribute in the development of Chitrakoot.

Organizing Secretary of Deendayal Shodh Sansthan Shri Abhay Mahajan gave information regarding the work of the institute and the Pride day programme. Mahant Sitasharan Maharaj of Janaki Mahal Chitrakoot, Vice Chancellor of Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya Prof. Bharat Mishra, Dr. B.K. Jain of Sadhguru Seva Sangh Trust Shri Yogesh Tamrakar, Shri Narendra Tripathi, MLA Shri Nilanshu Chaturvedi, Commissioner Shri Anil Suchari, ADGP Shri KP Venkateswara Rao, Collector Shri Anurag Verma, Superintendent of Police Shri Dharamvir Singh along with public representatives and residents of Chitrakoot were present.
