Forest Deptt. to Cooperate in Forest Dwellers Health Safety

Bhopal. The Minister for Forests, Dr. Gauri Shanker Shejwar awarded forest personnels for their outstanding duty performance at a function organised at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve to mark the Internation Tiger Day. Addressing the gather he said that now forest department would cooperate with Health department to protect health of people living in core and buffer zones of tiger reserve. The function focussed on Tiger Conservation held by Eco development and tendu leaf committees in cooperation with the local people. MLA Sushri Meena Singh, Field Director Shri K. Raman and Joint Director Shri K.P. Bangad were also on the occasion.

Umaria Tendu Leaf Gets best price

The Forest Minister informed that due to best quality tendu leaf from Umaria has generated best rates and leaf collector are being distributed with better bonus amount. Tendu leaf collectors are provided with bonus amounting to Rs. 58 crore this year of which 80 percent has already been paid, he added. Eco Development Societies would be granted Rs. two crore each to carry outdevelopment works in their respective areas.

Forest Committees To Get Powers

Dr. Shejwar said that alike gram panchyats powers would be delegated to forest committees too. It would enable them to carry out forest protection and conservation works in a better way. He said Aunganwadi Bhawan will be built in Tiger Reserve where forest employee would take care of nutritions food distribution and health monitoring.

Populations of Tiger and wild Animals increases

Dr. Shejwar said that the care being taken by village forest committee, villalge safty committee and eco committee has resulted into better tiger and wild animals population. There number is gradully increasing tiger earmarks has own teritory and any other tiger’s entry leads to sometimes deadly fights. To make a check on territional and Tiger – man conflict, corridor is being forepared between national parks.

Forest Guards to Get Promotion

Dr. Shejwar said that now forest Guard will be promoted as forester in 10 yesrs instead of 12 years. He tendu leaf collection amount has also been increased handsomely. About 32 lakh tendu leaf collectors have been covered under insurance scheme. Now in accidental cases compersation of Rs. One lakh is given instead of Rs. 25 thousand. Similary a provison of Rs. 20 thousand has been made in lieu of Rs. 5000 in natural death cases.
