CM meets Amit Shah in Delhi

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, who reached New Delhi on a 3-day visit on Monday, met with Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah in the evening at the latter’s residence. Highly placed sources informed that during the meeting with the National President, the Chief Minister discussed several serious organisational matters keeping in view the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state. However, what transpired during the talks between the two senior leaders is yet to be known but it is being expected that the Chief Minister might have discussed serious political issues in the context of proposed visit of National President to Raipur on August 22. Apart from chalking out programme for the visit, the National President might have issued certain guidelines for the party organisation to follow ahead of his visit to Raipur, as the Assembly elections are round the corner.

During his visit to Raipur, the BJP National President is proposed to hold meeting with heads of ‘Shakti Kendras’ in charges and conveners. He will also chair meeting of BJP State Office-bearers and Core Group. During these meetings the National President will be concentrating on strategy for increasing party’s vote share and booth strengthening. The National President has set a target of winning 65 plus seats during the forth coming Assembly elections. Hence the National President will be giving a
final touch to the strategy forachievement of this target. It is likely that the National President may also review the implementation of central and state public welfare schemes from feedbacks.

During his last visit on June 10, the National President had directed the party organisational leaders to propagate central schemes at the ground level. Hence he will be reviewing the implementation of such schemes at the grass-root level. During his visit the National President is likely to discuss criteria for selection of candidates for Assembly election with Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik and other senior leaders. Today’s meeting between the Chief Minister and the National President is been looked as prelude to the meetings which would take place on August 22.

It is worth mentioning here that Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Monday proceeded on a 3-day visit to New Delhi. During his stay in New Delhi, the Chief Minister met Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah. The Chief Minister is also likely to hold a dinner meeting with Members of Parliament from Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister left for New Delhi by a regular flight at 2.50 pm and reached there at 4.45pm. On Tuesday and Wednesday the Chief Minister will be attending several local programmes. On August 9, the Chief Minister will leave for Raipur at 8am by a regular flight and reach at 10.15am.
During his stay in New Delhi, the Chief Minister will be hoisting a dinner meeting for the Members of Parliament from Chhattisgarh. During the meeting the Chief Minister is likely to discuss issues pertaining to Chhattisgarh, which can be raked up during the ongoing Monsoon Session in Parliament. The Chief Minister is likely to attend marriage function of Union Minister’s son apart from holding meetings with several Union Ministers and senior party leaders.
