Teachers giving good results of class XII to be felicitated: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government will make arrangements for free of cost coaching to meritorious students for admission in prestigious coaching institutes and competitive exams of Union Public Service Commission. He said that the fee of students whose parents are not tax payers will also be borne by the state government on their admission in national training institutes without any discrimination. Similarly, financial assistance will also be given to the students getting admission in identified universities abroad.

The Chief Minister announced this at a grand programme under Meritorious Students Incentive Scheme at Lal Parade Ground here today. He felicitated 10061 students who secured over 85 percent or more marks in XII Board exams, state’s students who secured first, second and third positions in IIT exam and first position in girls and disabled students’ categories by giving away Rs. 25 thousand each.

Expressing happiness, the Chief Minister said that he was eager to meet and felicitate these meritorious students ever since results were declared. He said that he feels very much proud to see such a large number of students in this function. He wishes for a day when entire Bhopal is replete with such meritorious students and he becomes tired while giving away laptops to them. He said that he is seeing future of the state in front of him. Every person has immense talent. Those who realise their strength can do anything. Citing his own example, the Chief Minister said that when the son of an ordinary farmer can become Chief Minister, then anyone can rise to higher positions.

The Chief Minister said that a new ray of hope has dawned. The state government has opened doors of immense possibilities to the youths for re-building Madhya Pradesh. Dedicated efforts are needed for it. Those who try are not defeated. He called for developing a website through which school children can inform the Chief Minister about any difficulty or hurdle in education.

He said that the state government would also felicitate the students selected in Union Public Service Commission exam-2015. Teachers giving good results of class XII exams will also be felicitated. They would be given Rs. 10 thousand each.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has made arrangements for education of destitute, orphan, rag picker and beggar children also. Collectors have been directed to ensure arrangements for their education, books, uniforms, food and lodging. If seats are not available in hostels, they should be lodged in rented houses.

Shri Chouhan said that girls of the state are Ladli Laxmis. Arrangements have been made to ensure that their families do not have to take loan for their education, upbringing and marriage. Reservation in jobs has also been given to them including 50 percent in education sector and 33 percent in police. Reservation of 50 percent has also been given to women in local body elections.

Constant efforts are on to help students reach new heights of progress. He referred to Super 100 under which coaching is being imparted to 2 girl and boys of every district in the state. Schools for Excellence are being conducted in all development blocks. Every possible assistance is also being provided to help the students who have not secured merit. Such students are being provided loans for higher education under Education Loan Scheme under which state government gives loan guarantee. Arrangements for scholarship have been made for only girl child and the girls who have lost their fathers.

The Chief Minister said that major IT companies are opening businesses and industries in the state. The Chief Minister expressed the wish that youths of the state become employers and not job seekers. Industrialists like Tata, Birla and Ambani should emerge from the soil of Madhya Pradesh. For this also, the state government is extending every possibile cooperation. The government is cooperating with young entrepreneurs by providing them technology, branding and marketing of products and necessary capital. The state government is giving Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. one crore loan guarantee under Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is transforming at a rapid pace. Once tagged as a sick state, Madhya Pradesh is now the fastest growing state among major states of the country. Economic growth rate is being maintained in double digits for last 7 years. Its agriculture growth rate is highest in entire world which is over 20 percent for last consecutive 3 years.

The welcome address was delivered by ACS School Education Shri S.R. Mohanthy. He informed that Meritorious Students Incentive Programme was introduced in the state in 2008-09. Since then, the number of students of government colleges securing over 85 percent marks has increased over 10-fold.

The Chief Minister felicitated meritorious students by showering flower petals on them. Vande Mataram, Madhya Pradesh Gaan, Saraswati Vandana were presented and 2 films on School Chalen Ham Abhiyan were screened at the programme. At the conclusion, the Chief Minister posed for photograph with all students.

Former CM Shri Kailash Joshi, School Education Minister Shri Paras Jain, Minister of State for School Education Shri Deepak Joshi, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Zila Panchayat President Shri Manmohan Nagar, senior officers, students and teachers from all over the state were present on the occasion.
