Guttu Bhaiya, MLA from Bhopal North, passed away: CM paid tribute

Ramesh Sharma (Guttu Bhaiya), who was the first MLA of BJP from North Assembly seat of Bhopal, is no more. He died on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday at 2 am. He was 70 years old. On Wednesday, after attending several weddings, he reached home late at night. He was having mild chest pain. He went to sleep and later his health worsened. By the time the doctor reached home on the call of the family, he died.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached the residence of former MLA Ramesh Sharma and paid tribute to him.. After this he met the family of the former MLA. consoled them. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former MLA Ramesh Sharma were friends from students’ life.

CM said, today Bhopal has become deserted. Guddu Bhaiya is no more, can’t believe it. He was easy, simple, humble and dear to every heart. There was no one against him in the opposition. He was our senior in student life. We used to contest the elections of student unions. Be it a student leader of any organization, if he felt hungry at night, he used to have food at Guttu Bhaiya’s hotel. He used to support people in happiness and sorrow. His last rites will be performed with state honours. Former Bhopal Mayor Alok Sharma told that the last rites will be performed at Chhola Vishram Ghat at 4 pm.

The Chief Minister reached the residence of former MLA Ramesh Sharma and paid tribute to him.

Former BJP District President of Bhopal and former Mayor Alok Sharma told that the whole of Bhopal knows Ramesh Sharma by the name of Guttu Bhaiya. He used to do student politics in Safia College. He entered active politics in 1982 by becoming a councilor for the first time. After this he also became the chairman of Bhopal Development Authority. Was the District President of BJP in Bhopal. For the first time in 1993, he became the first MLA of BJP from North Assembly of Bhopal. His image in Bhopal has been that of a Hinduist leader. He has a son and a daughter. The daughter is married to the son of Kailash Mishra, Congress district president of Bhopal. Ramesh Sharma’s daughter is also a councilor from ward seven.

Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra also consoled the family members by reaching Ramesh Sharma’s house.
