Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Disha Vakani, Dilip Joshi shocked over Dr Haathi’s demise

elevision actor Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr Hansraj Haathi’s sudden demise has left the entire nation in shock. For some he was the adorable uncle, while for others he was Laughing Buddha of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

His beloved fans and co-stars are deeply saddened by the news.
While talking to Times of India, Disha Vakani aka Dayaben, who is currently on maternity leave said, “I am still unable to fathom that he is no more with us. It’s beyond shocking. He was one of the finest people around. He was exactly the same as shown on-screen. He loved food and loved to eat and feed everyone. I remember how he had specially got Gulab Jamuns for me during my pregnancy. I am just not able to gather myself ever since I have heard of this. It’s so shocking even more because he was all fine till now.”

His close friend and co-star Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal was shocked to hear the news. He is currently in London and had shot with him last week.

“It is very, very shocking for me. I am in London for some work and I got a call from the set about this. I am shaken up. I still cant believe that he is no more with us. Last week, we were shooting together before I left for London. And he was in jolly mood like always. Health wise also he was completely fine. I couldnt believe that it was my last meeting with him. Will be coming back after a week. He will be missed by all of us. Such a lovely personality he was. May his soul rest in peace and God give strength to his family,” Dilip told SpotboyE.com.

Show’s creator Asit Kumarr Modi had confirmed the news by issuing a statement, which read, “We are very sad to inform the loss of our senior actor Kavi Kumar Azad. He was playing the character of Dr Hathi in Taarak Mehta… We lost him to a massive cardiac arrest today morning. He was an amazing actor and a very positive person. He truly loved the show and always came for the shoot even if he was not feeling well. He called today morning saying that he is not well and will not be able to come for shoot. And later we got the news that he passed away. We are all too numb to say anything.”

The little Tapu aka Bhavya Gandhi also took to his Instagram page and posted an adorable picture with him. And captioned it as, “I will hold on to this hug…sleep in ease.”
