Back in March, she visited the Bulgari store in Mumbai, India, sporting an $82,000 (Rs. 68.27 lakhs approx.) rose gold necklace from the brand’s Serpenti collection.

Priyanka Chopra, actress and Bulgari brand ambassador turned heads at the unveiling of the Italian luxury house’s Aeterna collection in Rome on May 20. Chopra graced the event in a stunning black gown with a Del Core white off-shoulder peplum top with a figure-hugging skirt, but it was the Bulgari necklace adorning her neck that truly stole the show.

The necklace, aptly named the Serpenti Aeterna, is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. Bulgari describes it as “extraordinary” and “precious,” and with good reason. Crafted from a single diamond weighing over 200 carats, the necklace features seven pear-shaped diamond “pearls” totalling 140 carats – a symbolic nod to the brand’s 140-year anniversary.

Glamour magazine reports that this dazzling creation carries a staggering price tag of $43 million (Rs. 358.04 crores). The pear-shaped diamonds rest gracefully beneath a sinuous, three-dimensional wave structure made of platinum, further embellished with 698 diamonds totalling 61.81 carats. Bulgari reveals that this exceptional piece took over 2,800 hours to create, a testament to the meticulous artistry involved.

The details on the official website of the brand read, “A journey through Bulgari’s 140-year legacy is born from a single rough stone totaling 200 carats… Beginning with a single block of wax, a senior artisan sculpted and moulded the necklace’s 18 distinct elements before wielding a flame to delicately curve and imbue the composition with grace.”

Chopra, who joined the Bulgari family in 2021, perfectly embodied the brand’s glamour and heritage at the star-studded event held at the Terme di Diocletian, an open-air museum in Rome. According to People publication, the event showcased over 500 exquisite creations from the brand’s new Aeterna collection, encompassing not just jewelry but also watches.

Joining Chopra were fellow Bulgari ambassadors Anne Hathaway, Liu Yifei, Shu Qi, Hikari Mori, and Alessandro Gassman. Actresses Isabella Rossellini and Carla Bruni also graced the occasion, adding to the star power of the event.
