Anganwadi services to be improved for nourished Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Women & Child Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh has said that Anganwadi services for ensuring malnutrition-free nourished Madhya Pradesh will be strengthened and improved and every needy person’s access to them will be ensured. She urged the society to Cooperate with government in efforts for healthy society and better future. Smt. Singh was launching 7-day Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan, mobile Anganwadi and play school in Anganwadi here today. Zila Panchayat President Shri Manmohan Nagar was also present.

The Minister said that objective of Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan is reaching out to the people who are unable to avail Anganwadi services so far. She said that during the 7-day campaign such families will be contacted and motivated to come to Anganwadi centres. Smt. Singh informed that the state government has resolved to make every child nourished through Suposhan Abhiyan. For this Sneh camps were organised, which evoked encouraging results. She said that the Chief Minister wishes that enlightened and responsible persons of society should also be associated with it. Department’s efforts in this regard have received society’s support. At present, 52 thousand citizens of the state have taken responsibility to make malnourished children nourished. Lauding this, Smt. Singh said that we would succeed in ensuring state’s progress through such cooperation of society.

MLA Shri Vishwas Sarang said that he has taken resolve to adopt children to make them nourished and monitor their health for one year.

Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Shri J.N. Kansotiya said that Anganwadi centres play significant role in ensuring health of children and women. He urged people to visit Anganwadi centre once. They would obtain information about facilities extended to children and women and Anganwadi centres. Commissioner ICDS Smt. Pushplata Singh threw light on Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan.

Citizens and parents felicitated

Smt. Maya Singh felicitated the citizens who have adopted children to be made nourished for a prescribed period. The parents whose children are attending anganwadis regularly were also felicitated.

Mobile Anganwadi flagged off

The Minister flagged off the second mobile Anganwadi of the state to be run in Bhopal district. Through it, Anganwadi services will be provided in the areas not having an Anganwadi and the anganwadis where children are not attending regularly.

Play school, new Anganwadi building and milk distribution inaugurated

Smt. Maya Singh inaugurated the new building of Anganwadi constructed as per new norms at Ankur School and play school in 74 Bungalows area. She also launched milk distribution and released activity book of play school and Sneh Sarokar Pustika.
