Landslide in Himachal-Uttarakhand, National Highway Block: Water filled in many cities of Maharashtra including Mumbai; 8 people died in a week in Telangana

There is an alert of heavy rain on Friday in 21 states of the country including Telangana, Maharashtra. On Friday, a big landslide occurred in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, National Highway-5 was blocked due to landslides in Himachal’s Shimla and Kinnaur.

In the last 24 hours, Telangana received 97 mm, which is about 4 inches, and Maharashtra received 27.8 mm of rain. Mulugu, Jaishankar Bhupalpally, Jangaon, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Karimnagar, Hanumakonda and Warangal districts of Telangana are the most affected. In a week, 8 people have died in rain-related incidents. All schools and colleges will remain closed in the state today.

On the other hand, in many cities including Mumbai, Thane, Kolhapur and Nagpur in Maharashtra, roads were flooded after heavy rains on Thursday, affecting traffic. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains in Mumbai even today.

In Nanded of the state, a flood-like situation arose in many areas. More than 50 families had to shift, while 2 people died. 13 NDRF teams have been kept on standby in Maharashtra.

Heavy rain will occur in these states: Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh.

Light rain will occur in these states: Jharkhand and Meghalaya may experience light rain with lightning.

No chance of rain: There is no chance of rain over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and East Uttar Pradesh.
