Deepika Padukone Hopes To Have ‘Three Little Kids’, Says ‘Have A Happy Family And…’
After a lot of speculation, Deepika Padukone has finally announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Ranveer Singh. On Thursday, February 29, the actress took to her Instagram handle to share that she is pregnant and will welcome her first child in September this year. Ranveer and Deepika have often spoken about wanting to have kids. In fact, a few years ago, Deepika said she wanted to have three kids and a happy family.
In a 2013 round table interview with Rajeev Masand, Deepika was asked what she would be doing if she wasn’t an actor. “If I was not an actor, I don’t know what I would’ve been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots. Have a happy family and at the same time, still doing what I’m doing,” she said.
After Deepika finally announced her pregnancy, fans and friends rushed to the comments section to congratulate the couple. Vikrant Massey wrote, “OMGGGGGGG!!!! Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko!!!” Kriti Sanon commented, “Omg!!!! Congratulations you two!!!” Priyanka Chopra, too, took to the comments to wish the couple well. She wrote, “Mubarak” and also dropped a red heart. While Alia Bhatt didn’t write a comment, she dropped a bunch of red hearts.
Ranveer and Deepika have been married for over five years and their pregnancy rumours have been making headlines for a long time now. Recently, a report by The Week claimed that Deepika is preparing for motherhood. A source cited by the publication claimed, “The actor is said to be in her second trimester.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone was recently seen in Fighter with Hrithik Roshan. She will now be seen with Prabhas in Kalki 2989 AD. Ranveer Singh is gearing up for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 with Kiara Advani.
