Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh visits Tribal Museum

Dr Manmohan Singh was presented with insignia along with Gond painting artwork on behalf of the museum

Bhopal: Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh visited Tribal Museum situated in Shyamala Hills during his stay in Bhopal on Tuesday. In the visitor’s book at the museum, he wrote – Tribal life and culture of the state has been displayed beautifully in the tribal museum of Bhopal which is praiseworthy. There is need to preserve and enrich the heritage of tribal art for the future generations of the country. Dr Manmohan Singh appreciated the decoration of the various galleries of the museum. He said that he was impressed with the unique museum.
Culture Minister Dr Vijaylaxmi Sadho gave information about the tribal art forms displayed in the museum to the former Prime Minister in detail. Folk artists from Chhindwara and Betul district gave a grand welcome to the former Prime Minister Dr Singh in the museum with music from traditional instruments. Dr Manmohan Singh was presented with insignia along with Gond painting artwork on behalf of the museum.
On this occasion former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Public Relations Minister PC Sharma, Higher Education Minister Jitu Patwari, Tribal Affairs Minister Omkar Singh Markam and Home Minister Bala Bachchan were present.
