Ahead of Love Aaj Kal’s trailer release, here’s all you need to know about Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan’s film

From the day the rumours of Imtiaz Ali’s next first kicked off and its casting was revealed to the day when the makers finally dropped the film’s first poster, fans are curious and excited in equal measure to find out even the smallest of details about the film.

Bollywood actors Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan have united for the film and after months of wait, it’s now revealed that the film is titled Love Aaj Kal.

The makers are all set to unveil the film’s trailer today, but ahead of the big launch, here’s everything you need to know about the much-awaited film.

– The film, which shares its title with Imtiaz’s 2009-released film, Love Aaj Kal, is reportedly a sequel to the film. While the filmmaker hasn’t addressed if the rumours are true, the same title suggests that the running theme might be similar. The original film featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and co-starred Rahul Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Giselli Monteiro in supporting characters.

In the 2009-film, Saif essayed a double role of Jaivardhan in the present time and Veer Singh Panesar in the tale running in the past. Interestingly, the upcoming Love Aaj Kal also sees Kartik in the role of Veer while Sara will be essaying the character of Zoe.

The poster of the film also suggests that the movie will feature two storylines – one set in the present-day 2020s, and the other one set in the 1990s. And if the title is anything to go by, both the stories will be love tales set in different time periods.

It’s known that the film stars Sara and Kartik in the leading roles. But not many people know that the film also stars Randeep Hooda in a key role. While not much is known about his character as yet, the actor had put up a post on Instagram expressing gratitude towards Imtiaz.

Coming to the lead pair of the film, while it’s a given that viewers are wholeheartedly excited to see the oven-fresh pair on the big screen, the two have reportedly had a journey offscreen too. The time the film was announced and throughout its course of making, the rumours of a romance brewing between Sara and Kartik were taking flight. But reportedly, the two have now parted ways.

The film, which is being bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan and Imtiaz Ali, is slated for a release on February 14. Looks like the fans are in for a treat this Valentine’s Day!
