Rs. 11 lakh assistance to bereaved family of deceased police personnel

Bhopal: A special investigation team (SIT) will be constituted to investigate death of a police personnel while preventing illegal transport of minerals in Morena district. SIT will complete investigation within 15 days. These decisions were taken by a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Home Minister Shri Babulal Gaur and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa were also present.

Rs. 11 lakh assistance to bereaved family

The Chief Minister said that the state government stands by family of the deceased police personnel. His family will be given salary of his entire service period. The bereaved family will be provided ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. one lakh from Shaheed Fund. Arrangements for free education of Shaheed’s children will also be made. The Chief Minister also said that talks will be held with family members of the deceased police personnel and if his wife wishes so she would also be given appointment on compassionate ground.

It was informed at the meeting that effective action against illegal mining is being taken continuously in the state. So far, 6,950 cases of illegal transport of minerals have been registered till date this year and fine of Rs. 14 crore 77 lakh recovered. Similarly, fine of Rs. one crore 64 lakh has been realised in 493 cases of illegal mining and Rs. 4 crore 35 lakh in 110 cases of illegal storage of minerals. Last year, fine of Rs. 12 crore 2 lakh was realised in 6815 cases of illegal transportation of minerals, Rs. one crore 19 lakh in 725 cases of illegal mining and fine worth Rs. 52 lakh 98 thousand was realised in 349 cases of illegal storage of minerals. DGP Shri Surendra Sinh, Principal Secretary Home Shri B.P. Singh, Principal Secretaries to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Shri S.K. Mishra and Secretary Mineral Resources Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla were also present on the occasion.
