‘Land demarcation’ goes hi-tech in state

Bhopal: Land demarcation through traditional method will be become a thing of past soon in Madhya Pradesh. For ensuring quality in demarcation, all districts are being provided 4 electronic total station machines (ETSMs) each. These machines have been provided to most of districts. The process in remaining districts will be completed by the end of this month. Apart from facility to take printouts of demarcation, the machines will also remove scope of any irregularity in the work.

Electronic total station machines have a number of benefits. Not only entire area will be visible on the machine at the time of demarcation of land, field etc, but can also be saved from every angle. There will be no error in demarcation. The same measurement will be same if the area is measured for a number of times. Earlier, area used to change due to manual measurement taken by Patwari. The demarcation also took 2 to 3 days. Now, demarcation can be done within 4-5 hours. Tallying it with old map will also be easier after taking printout. Demarcation will be easy in every climate except when it is raining. Demarcation through these machines will cause no harm to standing crops.
