Satna to get 108 ambulence service
Bhopal. Satna district will soon get 108 ambulance service. Tenders have been invited to start this service. With this facility, Three to four Ambulence will be made available in each development block of the district. Better healthcare facility will be available in the rural areas of the district also through 108 ambulance service, which has proved very effective in making emergency medical aid available. Public Works Minister Shri Nagendra Singh, has told on Wednesday.
The Minister told that Public Health & Family Welfare Department will make ambulance service available in the districts with the help of ambulances of district hospital, 108 service and Janani Express. Phone number of the call centre for all these ambulances in the district will be 108.
The 108 service has proved a boon for saving lives of people in cases of emergency like road accidents, fire incidents, medical trauma, heart attack, brain hemorrhage by making medical aid available immediately.
Each ambulance under the scheme is manned by trained driver and emergency paramedical technician. They are specially trained in providing first aid to patients. Necessary lifesaving appliances and medicines and four stretchers are available on each ambulance for emergency service.
It may be mentioned that these services are proving far better than the ordinary ambulances. Lives of a large number of people have been saved since 108 ambulances reach affected persons or accident spots in less time. The ambulance, which reaches the spot in 16 minutes on an average, has also proved effective in emergency delivery cases. The 108 service is connected with ultra modern call centre. A citizen can seek direct help by dialing toll-free number 108 from mobile or landline. Call can be made without dialing code number. The request for help by common people received at the call centre is relayed to driver of ambulance, who has mobile phone. The driver collects information about location of the spot of emergency and rushes to people’s help immediately.
