Along with tourism, road will also ensure areas economic development

Bhopal. Public Relations, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that in Vindhya region roads worth over Rs. 5000 crore are being constructed in Rewa division alone. He said that international level 4-lane roads will promote tourism as well as ensure area’s economic growth. Establishment of Vindhya’s pride white tiger safari at Mukundpur is also nearing completion. Shri Shukla was performing Bhumi Poojan of Maihar bypass on Rewa-Jabalpur-Lakhnadaun National Highway No. 7 at Maihar today. Minister Shri Shukla said that 4.75 km long Maihar bypass will cost Rs. 70 crore. Major bridges over railway and Tamas river will be constructed on this CC road. MP Shri Ganesh Singh presided over the function.

Shri Shukla said that Vindhya region lacked infrastructure and 4-lane roads. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given a number of bonanzas to Vindhya in road and infrastructure sectors. Water of Bansagar has arrived in Rewa. The area will witness Green Revolution as soon as water of Bargi arrives. The Energy Minister said that this road has been declared as industrial corridor. Agro-based industries will also come up here. The Minister informed that 8 to 10 bypasses will be constructed on the national highway from Rewa to Jabalpur. Construction of Maihar bypass will be completed as early as possible.

Shri Ganesh Singh said that Maihar bypass is a major achievement. Works costing Rs. 600 crore have already been sanctioned for Maihar.
