Advisory Board to Send its Recommendations on Nalini’s Plea in Few Days

The Advisory Board, which has been constituted for considering the plea a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case Nalini, will submit its report to the Tamil Nadu government in a few days, reported PTI.

The board headed by district collector C Rajendran held a meeting running over two hours yesterday and heard Nalini on her plea at Vellore women’s prison, where she is lodged, said report, adding that the meeting lasted till late in the night.

Speaking to reporters in the morning, Rajendran said that board members had to sit and prepare the report, though it would be up the state government to decide on its recommendations, said report.

“We will be sending our report in a few days,” he was quoted as saying.

“According to the jail memorandum, there are some criteria for consideration of early release of prisoners. According to that, we have discussed,” he was quoted as saying.
