Basic training of sign language in police stations must in Madhya Pradesh

Disabled Welfare Commissioner Sandeep Rajak has said that basic training in sign language should be done in all the police stations of Madhya Pradesh so that the disabled can present their case themselves. Arrangement of two wheel chairs, ramp, railing and Braille signage should also be ensured in all the police stations. Rajak said this during the inspection of Cantt. police station in Jabalpur. 

He has said that the police should work with special sensitivity towards incidents happening with different categories of disabled people, especially with intellectual disabilities. Women with disabilities will be able to present their complaints better by training related to all categories of disabled.

Rajak also inspected the newly constructed District Disabled Rehabilitation Center. Instructed to send proposal for CCTV camera and lift facility in the building under SIPDA scheme of the Central Government. 

He said that the subject matter experts of DDRC must be present in the medical board held on every Monday in the district hospital. 

He distributed tricycles and hearing aids to the disabled.
