London Paralympics : Indian athletes getting rough treatment at Games village

New Delhi: After India’s best show at the Olympics, it has been reported that the specially-abled athletes of the country are going through a rough treatment at the Games village at London Paralympics.

 

It has been reported that the Indian officials are staying at the village, whereas the coaches and escorts have been asked to stay outside on their own expense.

 

According to the Sports Ministry, the responsibility of allocation of rooms lies with the Paralympics Committee of India. It has been learnt that the Indian Olympics Association has no hand in organistaions as the PCI is not part of it.

 

While talking to an English news channel, Indian weightlifter Farman Basha revealed that there is no one to escort him around the village that has added problems in getting meals for him as well. He has also said that athletes have not been given their daily allowance.

 

He was one of the specially-abled athletes in the Indian contingent, excited to do India proud at the Games.
