Fiscal discipline should be observed strictly : CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that fiscal discipline should be strictly observed. There should be no lack of funds for government’s priorities, development and public welfare schemes.
Shri Chouhan was reviewing financial situation at a joint meeting of revenue-generating departments here today. Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram was also present on the occasion.
It was informed at the meeting that rate of increase in industrial products’ indices was negative during the financial quarter. Apprehension was expressed in reduction of revenue from Central taxes during the first quarter on the basis of financial signs. In this context, discussions were made at the meeting over planning and control in financial work in the state. Revenue-generating departments were also directed to pay attention to new sources of financial income. It was informed at the meeting that almost all the revenue-generating departments have achieved targets.
