CM want the propogation Science and Technology in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions that information technology and science should be popularised on a mass scale in the larger interests of common citizens of Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister was undertaking quarterly review of Information Technology and Science & Technology departments on Wednesday.

The meeting was informed that the best data centre in the country will soon be established at Bhopal. The work for starting Triple IT is also being undertaken.

The meeting was informed that a new human resource policy will be implemented for Electronics Development Corporation. A scheme is also being chalked out to identify women in the rural areas of the state for imparting basic computer training to them.

Chouhan said that traditional artisans, craftsmen, weavers and labourers should be provided full benefit of science and technology. He said that the persons undertaking researches and innovations in traditional equipment and techniques will be encouraged and honoured.

The Chief Minister instructed to make efforts to conserve tribal science and knowledge and rich tradition of ancient information.

The meeting was informed that a Navachar Prakoshth (Innovation Cell) has been set up for encouraging innovations. The selected innovator is provided free lodging, food, daily allowance and a fixed monthly stipend. Assistance has been provided to Mahesh Patel who innovated a gadget for measuring intensity of earthquakes, Ramkishore Vishwakarma who manufactured low-cost tractor, Ashok Chauhan who invented low-cost solar lamp and Santosh Matoliya and Krishna Verma who invented power generation from speed-breakers.

Vigyan Mela (Science Fair) is proposed to be held at Rewa in the third week of January, at Jabalpur in the second week of February and Bhopal in the third week of February. Dhamnod in Dhar district and Kshipra in Dewas district have been identified for establishment of Grameen Pradyougik Upyog Kendra. Resources Atlases of districts are also being prepared. The atlases of Sidhi and Singrauli have been published. Manuscript of Tikamgarh’s atlas is ready.

Information Technology and Science & Technology Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Chief Secretary Avani Vaish, Principal Secretary Alok Shrivastava and Secretary Information Technology Hari Ranjan Rao were also present on the occasion.
