Delhi polls: BJP shoots five questions at Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday decided to put its campaign for Delhi assembly polls in top gear by fielding several of its frontline leaders and targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal with five questions, an exercise which will last till February 5, the last day of electioneering.

Among the five questions posed by BJP to Kejriwal are why he took Congress support to form government last year ater having promised not to do so and had also sworn by his children and why he did not fulfil his promise of instituting a case against former CM Sheila Dikshit and not make public documents pertaining to alleged corruption by her.

Party chief Amit Shah held a meeting to review its preparedness with a number of Union Ministers.

BJP has roped in around 20 Union Ministers and 120 Mps from across the country who will address around 250 meetings to woo different sections of society in Delhi.

Sources said it has also entrusted the responsibility of around five constituencies to each of the 14 Union Ministers and senior party leaders, besides making middle-rung leaders incharge of each constituency to ensure that the workers come out in large numbers in taking the party campaign forward.

“Around 1.24 lakh panna prabharis have been appointed who will be incharge of each page of the voter list in Delhi and party workers from 13 states have come in to mobilise the party’s cadres in its attempt to reach out to voters,”a senior BJP leader said.

It has also been decided to come out with a vision document for the national capital instead of the usual manifesto.

Asked if BJP is “worried” of AAP and that is why the entire party force has been mobilized, Union Minister and senior party leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said “it is part of the usual poll process. Fortunately, BJP has Union Ministers, Mps and MLAs who are primarily party members. If they don’t have all this, we cannot be held answerable.”
