Bhopal: Digvijaya Singh focuses on booth strategy

BHOPAL: Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh in his election campaigning is mainly focusing on booths. Singh has identified booths according to assembly areas, where the party would be focusing. These are the booths where Congress got more votes during recent assembly polls than previous elections. Singh has deputed booth in charge to ensure that Congress gets more votes in Lok Sabha polls too than the BJP.

Singh is fully focusing on Narela, Govindpura, Sehore and Berasia assembly seats. BJP lost on these seats during assembly polls. Booths have been identified in these assembly areas and Congress had got votes than BJP on these booths. Preparations are also on to ensure that those who voted for Congress should stay with the party this time too. Singh in the recent past had convened a meeting of booth in charges assembly area wise.

He had clearly said that the reason behind BJP winning was that the BJP was strong at booth level than Congress. Singh has assigned the responsibility to the party leaders to pay attention on booths and get votes from the voters in party’s favour. Public relations minister PC Sharma and Bhopal Central MLA Arif Masood had focused at booth level during assembly elections which led to their victory. Singh has made a team for booth management, which has local leaders as well as professionals.
