National e-Governance Award to MP government’s Samagra Portal

Bhopal. e-Governance Award for innovations and excellence in e-governance. The award instituted by Union Ministry of Personnel and Administrative Reforms was given away by Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Phadnavis during 19th e-Governance Conference at Nagpur today. Samagra Portal has been selected for this award from among 350 entries from various states and following multi-layer examination of the e-governance scheme. The award was received on behalf of the state government by Principal Secretary Shri M. Mohan Rao, Mission Director (Samagra) Shri Ajit Kumar, Hoshangabad Collector Shri Sanket Bhondve, Deputy DG (NIC) Shri Vinayak Rao, Joint Director Sushri Gita Kamthe, Shri Ajay Kulkarni and other team members.

It is noteworthy that Samagra Portal, the novel initiative of Madhya Pradesh government is being operationalised by Samagra Mission. Through it, various beneficiary-oriented schemes of various departments have been integrated, made transparent and simplified. Presently, these arrangements are being looked after by Social Justice, School Education, Food & Civil Supplies and Rural Development departments. Through the portal, identification and verification of benefiaries is done and pension, scholarships and benefits of various schemes are deposited directly in beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

NIC has registered state’s families and their members on Samagra Portal. All registered families have been given 8-digit Unique ID and members 9-digit IDs. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to register families online and give them IDs. Through the portal, benefit of schemes is being provided with transparency to eligible families and beneficiaries. For transparency, information about all benefited families and beneficiaries is being displayed on Samagra Portal.

During review meeting of implementation of National Food Security Act, the Prime Minister has lauded ration distribution arrangements through Samagar Portal of Madhya Pradesh. Other states have approached Madhya Pradesh fore replicating Samagra Portal system.
