Kainchi Chhola over-bridge construction completed

Bhopal: The Public Works Department has completed construction of Kainchi Chhola railway over-bridge. Administrative sanction worth Rs. 22 crore 39 lakh 60 thousand was given for this over-bridge in November 2005. Technical sanction worth Rs. 16 crore 56 lakh 55 thousand was given in January 2006. Revised administrative sanctions worth Rs. 36 crore 12 lakh and Rs. 45 crore 11 lakh 43 thousand were given in February, 2008 and March 2012, respectively.

Length of the newly built railway over-bridge is 658.75 metres. Its approach road is 2679.25 metres long and CC service road 2654.40 metres long. Total length of the over-bridge’s approach road is 396.80 metres.

This four-lane over-bridge nine 20-metre spans measuring 180 metres towards Bhopal and 108.25 metres return. Towards Vidisha, the over-bridge has 11 spans of 20 metres each measuring 220 metres and return 120.50 metres. Besides this, the over-bridge has a 30-metre wide railway span also. The four-lane approach road is 411.74 metres long towards Bhopal and 2267.51 metres long towards Vidisha. The two-lane service road is 1080.60 metres long towards Bhopal and 1573.80 metres long towards Vidisha. Similarly, railway crossing number 252-A is 102.35 metres and B 294.45 metes on the under-bridge approach road.

Besides this, total length of the railway over-bridge is 21.40 metres, two-lane road 2 number seven metres wide, central verge 1.60 metres wide and footpaths on both sides are 2.20 metres wide.

There are halogen streetlights in the central verge, traffic signals on crossings and plantation and road furniture on the approach roads.
