PC Sharma -BJP’s attempt to put pressure on vote counting; cabinet meeting without agenda and 3 days before counting

The last cabinet meeting of the fourth term of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been called on November 30 at 11.15 am at Vallabh Bhawan. In this, along with all the ministers, senior officials have also been called. The cabinet has no agenda. Congress has raised questions regarding this.

Former minister PC Sharma said that this is an attempt by BJP to put pressure on vote counting. The purpose of calling a meeting without an agenda is that the situation is bad. How to put pressure on officers and employees? BJP can use pressure to influence the counting of votes.

He said, ‘In Balaghat, they are trying to rig the postal ballot by sorting it before the date. Government employees have not voted for BJP, hence officials are alert, they will not be able to do anything. Our agents are on alert 24 hours in the strong room.

There has been no cabinet meeting in the last 10 years 3 days before counting of votes. During the code of conduct, the Chief Minister can call a cabinet meeting, but cannot take any policy decision. This meeting is said to be called regarding the departure of Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains.

 

Bains may bid farewell in the meeting

Current Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains can be bid farewell in the cabinet meeting. The term of his second extension is ending on 30th November. The new Chief Secretary may be Veera Rana.

Veera Rana is the president of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. Veera is the senior most officer after Iqbal Singh Bains in the IAS posted in MP. Veera Rana of 1988 batch will retire in March 2024. Since the Election Code of Conduct is in force in the state, the Election Commission itself has to approve the appointment of CS. The Commission has indicated that till the formation of the new government, a senior officer may get the charge of CS on the basis of seniority.

Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains was to retire on 30 November 2022, but just a day before this, on the night of 29 November, he was given an extension for 6 months till 30 May 2023. When 30th May came closer, the time for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh was near. In such a situation, Iqbal Singh Bains was again given extension for 6 months till 30 November 2023.
