Gifts to Nimar on Narmada Jayanti

Hanuvantiya. Cabinet meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the prime tourist place Hanuvantiya developed on the bank of life line Narmada River today. A decision to make new 6 Missions has been taken in the meeting.

Emphasis has been laid that Nimar is the important region of Madhya Pradesh. Hence, there is a wide scope of development in the region. Nimar Development Authority will be formed for planned development of roads, electricity, water, health, education beside other basic infrastructure. The authority while preparing development schemes will ensure its implementation.

Decision to form new 6 missions was also taken in the cabinet meeting including Micro Irrigation, Agro Forestry, Youth Empowerment, Health, Housing and Narmada Seva Mission.

Micro  Irrigation Mission- Under this Mission , Micro Irrigation projects will be encouraged. Coordinated efforts will be made by Water Resources, Narmada Valley Development, Agriculture and Horticulture departments to increase Micro Irrigation area. A target to increase micro irrigation capacity from75 thousand hectares annually to 4-5 lakh hectares annually is proposed in the state.

Agro Forestry Mission- Under this Mission , Agro Forestry will be encouraged in order to double farmers’ income. Agriculture, Horticulture and Forest departments will coordinate in the works.

Youth Empowerment Mission- Under the Mission , efforts will be made to link youths with employment through skill development. Coordinated efforts will be made by Higher Education, Technical Education, Commerce-Industry and Employment, Micro, Small and Medium Industry and Panchayat and Rural Development departments.

Health Mission- Under the Mission efforts will be made for 50 percent reduction in child and mother mortality rate in the next 5 years. Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Ayush and Women and Child Development departments will work in coordination.

Housing Mission- Under the Mission , land and houses will be provided to all the houseless persons on confessional rates till 2022. Rural Development, Urban Development and Housing beside Revenue departments will work jointly.

Narmada Seva Mission – Under the Mission works related to plantation, proper disposal of sewage water, purification of ghats and sanitation arrangements at wide level will be undertaken. Works in coordination of Rural Development, Urban Development and Housing, Horticulture and Forest departments will be undertaken.

Presentation on innovations, campaigns and programmes being conducted by various departments was given in the cabinet meeting. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that all the  departments should undertake innovations. Departments should create their different image by undertaking innovations and to provide benefit to the people directly. During the presentation of Energy department, Shri Chouhan said that efforts should be made to reduce the losses of electricity distribution companies. Also possibilities should be explored to provide monthly electricity bill to the BPL families at fixed rate.

Regarding Panchayat and Rural Development department, CM Shri Chouhan said that special attention should be paid towards improvement in quality of construction beside completion of works within time limit. Procedure to prepare proposals, technical and administration approval and evaluation of construction works should be simplified.

In the presentation of Women and Child Development department, it is informed that Lalima Yojna will be started from April month to prevent anemia in children, teenage girls and women. District wise action plan has been made for this. Under the scheme blood test of children, teenage girls and women will be carried out and treatment will be provided in case of anemia. CM Shri Chouhan gave directions to undertake work for improvement of nutrition level in malnourished children under mission mode.

Moreover, in the presentation of Tribal Welfare department, it is informed that the fee of the talented children of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe who were selected in the educational institutions of National level is being borne by the state government.  New experiments are being conducted in hostels. Efforts are being made to accommodate 2 to 3 children in a room. Also arrangements are being made to provide them ultramodern amenities. Fully equipped, 750 new hostels are being constructed to provide facilities to the children. This will bring improvement in their education standard. As a result of state government’s efforts, 200 scheduled caste and 343 scheduled tribe students were selected for prestigious institutions like I.I.T., N.I.T., Medical Education and N.I.L.U.

It is informed in the meeting that fee of the meritorious students selected in esteemed institutions like I.I.T, N.I.T, Medical Education and N.I.L.U. will be paid by the state government. Children whose parents have income upto 12 lakh per annum will be benefited.

Furthermore, in the presentation of Urban Development and Housing department it is informed that a ban on use of polythene bags will be imposed from May 1. CM Shri Chouhan said that ban should be imposed on all types of polythene bags. He directed to make public aware about this in the meeting.  Moreover, Shri Chouhan directed to make concrete arrangements to ensure that sewage water should not be released in Narmada water. It is informed in the meeting that work to establish sewage treatment plants in cities on Narmada Banks is being carried out speedily.

At the beginning of cabinet meeting CM Shri Chouhan performed Narmada Poojan. Also Vande Matram was recited in the meeting and film focusing ‘Namami Devi Narmade’- Seva Yatra was exhibited.
