Madhya Pradesh emerges model state in energy sector

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a model state in energy sector with laudable works costing Rs. 60 thousand crore in various energy components. Union Minister of State for Energy Shri Piyush Goyal stated this while addressing a meeting on discoms’ losses in New Delhi today.

The Union Minister of State informed that Madhya Pradesh is supplying 24X7 power to all. It has also made remarkable achievements in non-conventional energy sources. World’s biggest solar power plant is being established at Rewa. Asia’s largest solar energy plant has been set up in Neemuch.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed about target for cent percent electrification in the state by year 2018. Shri Chouhan urged to solve coal linkage problems faced by Singaji and Birsinghpur thermal power stations. Shri Chouhan also informed about innovations in power sector in the state. The state government also put forth suggestions to reduce losses.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and Principal Secretary Energy Shri ICP Kesari were also present in the meeting.
