MP Police Health Security Scheme to be inaugurated on Sept. 26

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate Madhya Pradesh Police Health Security Scheme on September 26 with slogan “Ve Farz Nibhate Sabki Suraksha Ka, Ek Kadam Unki Swasthya Ki Raksha Ka”. The scheme is being launched to provide timely treatment to police officers-employees and their families and save them from difficulties of medical reimbursement. Under the scheme cashless treatment facility upto Rs. 8 lakh each will be available in hospitals which are recognised by state government and have signed agreement with the trust headed by DGP.

Police officers and employees of all cadres in Madhya Pradesh (Except Indian Police Service officers and officers and employees posted on deputation in other departments) will be members of the scheme. Every member will contribute Rs. 100 entry fee and Rs. 600 per annum at the rate Rs. 50 per month. Employees of other departments posted on deputation in the Police Department will be eligible to avail this facility only during the period of deputation.
In consultation with Chief Medical & Health Officer of concerning district, the unit chiefs including Senior Superintendent of Police, Commandant, DIG and IG will give permission to members to undergo medical treatment at hospitals recognised by the government in and outside the state. A membership letter will be provided to each member to provide cashless treatment in contracted hospitals. Under the scheme, couple and 3 children will be provided facility only for treatment and surgery pre-prescribed by the trust.
If a member or his/her family member falls ill, his treatment will be started immediately at identified hospitals. Medical expenses will be reimbursed directly by the trust to concerning health institution. Membership forms, agreement letters and declaration letters are being sent to all police units.
