Naxals Need to Be Treated Differently: Chidambaram

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that Naxals need to be dealt with differently.

He was delivering his message at the commanders conference in New Delhi.

At conference in which the chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Force were present, the minister said that Naxals should be treated like a political party.

“The Naxals do not want to secede from India. They should lay down their arms and behave like a political party and enter into a dialogue,” the minister said.

It should be noted that the minister’s remarks came following a series of Naxal attacks across the country recently.
