Strengthen Haat-Bazar Clinic in remote areas: Baghel

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday told officials to ensure effective implementation of the Haat-Bazar Clinic scheme, which seeks to provide easy health services in remote and rural areas.

Strengthening the scheme will also help in controlling the corona epidemic, he said.

Baghel was holding a review meeting of the Health and Family Welfare Department here, an official communication said.

Baghel said that people should get regular health check-up, treatment and free medicines. He asked the officials to ensure this.

The Chief Minister reviewed the status of construction of medical colleges in Kanker, Korba and Mahasamund, recruitment of doctors and health workers, and procurement of medical equipment.

He laid emphasis on providing free medicines to all patients in all government hospitals. He called for opening generic medicine shops near the government hospitals.

Baghel reviewed the preparations being made to tackle the expected third wave of corona. The officials highlighted the preparations made in 179 government hospitals including district, community and primary health centres.
