Sahitya Academy Awards Presented to 19 Litterateurs

Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma has presented Sahitya Academy Awards to senior litterateurs at the awards presentation ceremony organised at Bharat Bhavan.

On the occasion, the minister announced to increase the All India Awards money from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 51 thousand and state level award money from Rs 21 thousand to Rs 31 thousand.

He said that the increased award money would be given from next year onwards.

Famous story writer Smt Chitra Mudgal presided over the awards presenting ceremony. Culture critic Sridhar Paradkar was also present on the occasion.

The Culture Minister said that honouring the litterateurs is our responsibility. Their works inspire the society. The future generation is guided by the literary works.

Addressing the function senior story writer Chitra Mudgal said that the tradition of culture and literature in Madhya Pradesh is well appreciated in the whole country.

Akhil Bhartiya Makhanlal Chaturvedi Puraskar for the year 2006 was given to senior litterateur of Khandwa, Dr Sriram Parihar for his book ‘Hansa Kaho Puratan Baat’. Akhil Bhartiya Virsingh Dev Award was given to Dr Nirja Madhav of Jaunpur for her novel ‘Geshe Jampa’. Devendra Raj Ankur of Delhi received the Akhil Bhartiya Ramchandra Shukla Award for his book ‘Rangmanch Ka Soundarya Shastra’. Akhil Bhartiya Bhavani Prasad Mishra Award was presented to Dr Sudhesh of Haryana for his collection of poems ‘Jalti Sham’.

State level Sahitya Academy Awards for the year 2006 – Subhadra Kumari Chouhan Award was given to Smt Sushma Munindra of Rewa for her book ‘Astitva Ki Kahani’. The Sri Krishna Saral Puraskar was given to Kantilal Thakre of Indore for his collection of poems, ‘Radha Ki Dhara’. Harikrishna Premi Puraskar was given to Dr Nishikant Kochkar of Gwalior for his book ‘Khel-Khel Main Natak’. Ashok Jamnani of Allahabad was given Dushyant Kumar Puraskar for his book ‘Aham Ke Liye’ and Batuk Chaturvedi was given Isuri Puraskar for his book ‘Barkha Basant’.

Akhil Bhartiya Makhanlal Chaturvedi Puraskar for the year 2007 was given to Dr Vinay Rajaram for his collection of essays, ‘Tathaiva Cha’. Akhil Bhartiya Mukti Bodh Puraskar was given to Dr Smt Kamal Kumar for her collection of stories ‘Ghar-Beghar’.

Dr Mahua Maji of Ranchi was given Virsingh Dev Puraskar for his novel, ‘Borishailla’. Pandit Bhavani Prasad Mishra Puraskar was given to Kumar Gunjan of Bilaspur for his collection of poems, ‘Jungle Chupchap’.

State level awards for the year 2007 – Bal Krishna Sharma Navin Puraskar was given to Govind Kumar Gunjan of Khargone for his novel collection ‘Pankhon Par Akash’. Subhadra Kumari Chouhan Puraskar was given to Anil Parashar of Ashoknagar for his collection of stories ‘Aur Rang Lout Aaya’. Divakar Verma of Etah was given the Sri Krishna Saral Puraskar for his collection of poems ‘Surya Ke Vanshaj Suno’. Alok Shrivastava of Shajapur was given Dushyant Kumar Puraskar for his book ‘Aamin Ke Liye’. Isuri Puraskar was given to Jagdish Joshila of Khargone for his book ‘Adhar Se Hont Tak’. Juhur Baksh Puraskar for best Children Drama was given to Dr Smt Sandhya Pandey of Bhopal.

Sahitya Academy director Prof Tribhuvan Nath Shukla welcomed the guests. Principal Secretary (Culture) Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava was also present on the occasion.
