108 ambulance service to be expanded in entire state

Bhopal. 108 ambulance service will be expanded to entire state. Public Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra has said on Monday, while addressing third anniversary function of 108 ambulance service being operated by GVK-EMRI.

Dr. Mishra said that that At present, 108 Ambulence service is being operated in ten districts. This service is rendering effective services in the state. He said that salaries of employees linked with the service should also be increased so that they can work with more attention. Shri Mishra said that 108 service has helped lakhs of people in emergency cases and saved thousands of lives. Dr. Mishra said that the State Government has implemented various welfare schemes for common people.

3.5 lakh cases in three years : 108 ambulance service was launched in the state on July 16, 2009. At present, it is being operated in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore, Sagar, Rewa, Datia, Damoh, Sehore and Hoshangabad. The service has attended 3.60 lakh cases in three years. Of these, 1.41 lakh were maternity cases and 62,699 cases of accidents.

 Neonatal ambulance only in Madhya Pradesh : 108 ambulance service GVK-EMRI’s Chief Executive Officer Shri Subodh Satyawadi informed that this service was introduced in the state for the first time in the country and is being operated in ten districts at present. He said neonatal ambulance has been introduced only in Madhya Pradesh. It has saved lives of a number of newborns. Shri Rajesh Baghmare threw light on the activities of 108 ambulance.
