OMC Row: Naidu Salvo Targets Rosaiah

Telugu Desam Party chief and Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, N Chandrababu Naidu, has accused chief minister K Rosaiah of indifference towards the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) irregularities.

The TDP president attached a copy of the report of the Central Empowered Committee of the Supreme Court on illegal mining in Anantapur district to the chief minister. Rosaiah had earlier said that he was yet to receive the report.

In a letter to the Rosaiah chief minister, Naidu said: “During your interaction with the press, you have, inter alia, remarked that you will obtain a copy of the report of CEC for your perusal, if necessary. I am herewith enclosing a copy of the same in the hope that its contents will convince you of my argument on the urgency of action against illegal mining.’’

Naidu claimed that the report revealed on the role of the State government and illegal mining by the OMC. He also blamed the chief minister of politicizing the issue, which he termed as one of public interest.

“Any further attempt to prolong this illegal exploitation, under technical reasons, is outrageous and would be nothing but blatant surrender before the mining mafia,” claimed Naidu.
