Surya Namaskar to be held in educational institutions, panchaayts and ashram-shalas

Bhopal: Apart from schools and colleges, Surya Namaskar marking Yuva Diwas, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda will also be held in Panchayats and ashram-shalas in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from Surya Namaskar, motivational educational and cultural programmes focusing on Swami Vivekananda will also be held on the occasion. It has been decided to organise Surya Namaskar from 11 am to 12.30 pm. The state government has issued instructions for preparations to all collectors, divisional Joint Directors Public Instructions, principals of educational institutions, DEOs, DIET principals, DPCs and Assistant Commissioners Tribal Welfare.

Directives have been given to make special efforts to ensure participation of non-government organizations and common people in the programme. Directives have been given to create awareness among people for holding Surya Namaskar on more grand scale than previous years. Surya Namaskar will be held simultaneously in educational institutions on one signal. The institutions not having a ground will hold Surya Namaskar in nearby ground. The government has constituted a 14-member committee headed by collector in all districts. The committee comprises SP, Zila Panchayat CEO, District Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Tribal Welfare, DCP, Public Relations Officer, principals of educational institutions, DIET principal, 5 members of NGOs nominated by collector, DUDA Project Officer, District Programme Officer and officers of other departments nominated by collector.

Collectors are holding district-level meetings to ensure preparations for the programme with private educational institutions and concerning departments, parent-teacher association, Yoga institutions, Kanyamumari Arya Samaj, Vidya Bharti, Ramakrishna Mission, Gayatri Parivar, tribal hostel, sports clubs, ex-servicemen, local body, mohalla club, morning walkers, health clubs, gyms, Panchayat, cooperative societies, awardees, Remote Education Centres of Bhoj University, Town & Village Security Committees etc. Work is also on to prepare an action plan for ensuring participation of large number of students and other people in Surya Namaskar.
