All Simhasta arrangements should be planned, transparent and time-bound

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Simhastha should spread of message for mankind’s welfare throughout the world. Best and most beautiful arrangements as per Sanatan traditions should be made for the event. All Simhasta-related arrangements should be completed in a planned, transparent and time-bound manner.
Shri Chouhan was reviewing preparations for Simhastha here today. He said that Simhastha is a major historic occasion of religious tourism. All arrangements related to it must be better, planned and time-bound. During Simhastha relevant issues of modern times must also be considered along with Sanatan traditions. Through it, message of conserving environment, religious harmony, moral education and women’s empowerment should be sent throughout the world. It was informed that about 5 crore devotees are expected to participate in Simhastha to be held at Ujjain in year 2016.

The Chief Minister directed to disseminate information and invite people to Simhastha from all over the world. People of Indian origin settled abroad should also be invited. Ultramodern technologies should be used in organising the event. Public representatives and people should participate in preparations for it. For Simhastha, ghats of Kshipra should be beautified on global level. He directed to adopt transparent process for all arrangements and pay special attention to quality. He will undertake review of Simhastha preparations every month.

The meeting was informed that 4000 hectare land will be acquired for Simhastha. The 2-month event will begin in April 2016. For administrative arrangements in Mela area, 6 zones, 16 sectors and 42 police stations will be created. First holy bath of Simhastha will take place on April 22, Shahi Snan on May 21 while other holy baths will take place on May 9, 11, 17 and 19, 2016. Panchkroshi Yatra will be held from May 1 to 6, 2016. GIS-based arrangements will be made for Simhastha. Six flag stations will be set up by Railways. During Simhastha 20 thousand administrative, 23 thousand police staff and 60 thousand volunteers will be deployed. For Simhastha, 4000 hectare area will be developed like a city for religious and socio-economic activities. Modern traffic arrangements will be made. The state government has sanctioned 144 works costing about Rs. 773 crore. For holy baths, 7.25 kilometer long ghats will be renovated and constructed. Cultural programmes will also be held during the event.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, DGP Shri Surendra Sinh, senior officers of all concerning departments, Ujjain division commissioner, collector and officers related to Simhastha arrangements were present on the occasion.
