Taiwan delegation met CM, says Madhya Pradesh has emerged as area of better investment

Bhopal: A business delegation of Taiwan led by ambassador Shri Chung Kwang met the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya here today.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that India and Taiwan have close cultural and trade relations. Ties between the 2 countries will cement further with increasing relations with Madhya Pradesh. Shri Chouhan informed the delegation that Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth rate has been double digit continuously for last 7 years. It is the fastest growing state in the country. He said that Madhya Pradesh has achieved unprecedented agiculture growth rate of 18.91 percent. Now, efforts are being made on large scale for increasing investment. He said that Taiwan’s investment proposals are welcome in food processing, electronics, construction, information technology, solar panel construction etc.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that state’s industrial investment policy and procedures are industry-friendly and totally transparent. The Chief Minister said that a delegation from the state will be sent to Taiwan. He also invited Taiwan’s investors and delegations to Global Investors’ Summit at Indore on October 8,9, and 10, 2014.

Hailing the Chief Minister, Taiwan’s Ambassador Shri Kwang described him as a popular Chief Minister. He said that constant rise in growth rate of Madhya Pradesh is a proof of leadership capacity. He said that trade activities have increased in south-eastern countries due to world tendency to look east. Investment worth 200 billion US dollar has been made in these countries. He said that new investment sectors need to be explored in view of increasing business competition, high labour and excessive demand. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as new investment area in India. He said that India is the only hope. Shri Kwang informed that Taiwan’s delegation had visited Punjab also. He said that there immense investment potential in Madhya Pradesh in food processing, automobile, and agriculture sectors.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan presented Madhya Pradesh’s literature to Shri Kwang. Shri Kwang presented a memento to the Chief Minister. Additional Chief Secretary Shri P.K. Dash, Secretary Shri S.K. Mishra and Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre’s Executive Director in India Dr. Guan Jili were present on the occasion.
