Zakia Jafri to be given copy of SIT report in 30 days: Court
AHMEDABAD: On Tuesday, a magisterial court asked The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was appointed by the Supreme Court (SC), to provide its final report about the alleged involvement of chief minister Narendar Modi and others in the 2002 Gujarat riots, within 30 days to complainant Zakia Jafri. She had asked a copy of the SIT report.
She is the wife of ex-parliamentarian and Congress party leader Ehsan Jafri. Ehsan Jafri was burnt to death in 2002 in his own home by a group of rioters during the 2002 riots.
A closure report has been filed by SIT against the accused, including chief minister Narendra Modi, for their alleged role in the 2002 riots mentions the court in its order.
The court also observed no evidence was found to establish the offence alleged by Zakia Jafri against 62 persons.
